Myrne Bogh describes her grandparents' migration to Iowa from Germany; acquisiton of the farm lands from the railroad companies; farm chores; livestock and crops; agricultural equipment such as plows; soil erosion and steps taken to prevent it; her career as a rural school teacher; social events such as chivarees, box socials and dances with polka bands; and working alongside her husband.
